Why be Baptized?
Baptism was instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ, Himself. His command is that everyone who believes in Him should be baptized.
He said to his disciples, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew
28:18-20).
Baptism then is not an option for Christians, it is an obligation. It is done in obedience to the Lord’s command. Jesus tells us, in John 14:15, “If you love me you will obey what I command you.”
Baptism
is the first step of obedience to Christ following conversion. Baptism does not save anyone or add anything to our conversion. It is only a visible image of conversion. The mode of baptism is by immersion, as
ordained by the Lord Jesus, and is the outward expression of the inward work of the Holy Spirit, - depicting our death, burial and resurrection with Christ. In obedience to Christ’s command, we practise the baptism
of converts by immersion. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
