God incident or co-incident?

In the year 1994, I was living in the Jane and Finch area.  One day in summertime, I decided to look for a church close to my area and found one called “Willowdale Baptist Church" nearby.  I wanted to find out if they had a VBS for my children, but on my way there, driving on Finch Ave West, I saw the NBC building and I decided to go in.  I went, rang the bell and the Church secretary came and opened the door.  She said her name was Julie and then I asked her about the VBS.  She told me they didn’t have a VBS because they were lacking volunteers to run it.  Even though I didn’t get what I was looking for, on Sunday
morning, that the same week, my family and I started to attend this Church.  A few years passed and we had the first VBS that I remembered.

Later on, we joined the home Bible studies.  We also had Sunday school for adults and young adults early on Sunday mornings with Mr. Quinn.  The classes were upstairs before the service and we had to dig in deeper after the service with pastor Willi Kurtz, or whoever preached that day.  Also, we had services at 6:00 PM.  Soon my wife joined the worship team. Later on, Esther my younger daughter joined the worship team too.  She said that pastor Willi preached that Sunday and he was so happy to see her singing with my wife, he made a comment about it in front of the whole Church.  When my daughter was 17, she started teaching in GodZone.

After 24 years worshiping in this Church I know that God directed my path, because I didn’t know anything about this church before that day.  NBC has a very good Sunday school especially for kids.  The people here are very friendly, compassionate, and helpful.  I think that’s why we decided to attend and became members of this church.

Since I have been attending this church, I got involved in Evangelism through the Gideons International in Canada distributing New Testaments and Bibles, Christian Magazines and other kinds of literature on the streets of Toronto.  While doing this, I have felt the evil spirit rejecting the word of God, with different kinds of arguments.  Also, I ran a Jail Ministry for more than 10 years at Metro West Detention Center, where I shared the word of God to the inmates.  I was invited to preach in Spanish Churches too when I was available and my wife sang solos.

After all I have said above, I encourage anyone who is looking forward to serve The Lord in any ministry to Come and taste how good it is to be part of this congregation, you will not be disappointed.
